These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotations, supply, fabrication, delivery and installation work by Jeanelle Kitchens CC t/a Jeanelle Granite (“the Company”).
- Quotation Validity
All quotations are valid for 7 calendar days unless otherwise stated, and remain subject to final measurement, slab availability, supplier pricing and site conditions. - Definitions
Material Supply means supply of the selected granite, quartz or other stone material, including cutting to size and polishing of the specified finished edges, unless otherwise stated in the quotation. Installation includes delivery within 20 km of our workshop in Pretoria and installation of the fabricated stone as specified in the quotation. - Acceptance
This quotation must be read together with these Terms and Conditions. By signing this quotation, or by paying the required deposit, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the quotation and these Terms and Conditions. - Deposit and Payment
A 70% deposit is payable before materials are ordered or fabrication begins. The balance is due on the day of installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing. No cash deposits may be made into the Company’s bank account unless agreed in writing. The Company may delay or suspend work if payment is not made on time. - Transport and Delivery
Standard installation pricing includes delivery within 20 km of our workshop in Pretoria, unless otherwise stated. Travel beyond this area may be charged at R15/km plus toll fees. Additional trips caused by site unreadiness, postponed installation, denied access or customer changes may be charged. - Exclusions
Unless specifically included in the quotation, the following are excluded: removal of old tops, plumbing, electrical work, tiling, carpentry, plastering, painting, floor covering, building work, support materials such as cleats, legs, brackets or steel reinforcement, splashbacks, mitres, epoxy edges, silicone finishing, and special polishing for sink, hob or other cut-outs. - Measurements and Approvals
Final fabrication will be based on measurements taken or approved by the Company. Customer-supplied measurements, drawings or instructions are used at the customer’s risk. Any changes after approval may result in extra charges and delays. Preferred edging style must be confirmed before fabrication and cannot be changed on installation day or afterward unless agreed in writing. - Site Readiness
The customer must ensure that the site is accessible, safe and ready for installation, with suitable cabinetry, adequate workspace, and electricity and water where required. If electricity or water is not available and the Company was not informed in advance, any necessary generator or related costs may be charged. - Natural Variation and Existing Tops
Granite, marble and other natural stone products vary in color, veining, markings, fissures and overall appearance. These natural variations do not constitute defects. Quartz and other engineered stone products may also vary slightly between samples and final slabs. Any work done on existing installed tops, including enlarging cut-outs, is at the customer’s risk, and the Company does not guarantee that existing tops will not crack or break during alteration work. - Cupboard Movement and Joins
After installation, cupboards or supporting structures may settle, sag or move over time, which may cause countertop joins to loosen. This is beyond the Company’s control, and any return visit or repair may be subject to a call-out fee. - Snags and Complaints
The customer or an authorized representative should inspect the work on completion. Any visible snag, shortage or complaint must be reported in writing within 3 business days of installation. This does not remove any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. - Cancellations
If an accepted order is cancelled, the Company may charge a reasonable cancellation fee based on costs already incurred, labor committed, materials ordered and fabrication completed. A minimum cancellation fee of 10% may apply. - Warranty
Natural stone does not carry a warranty against natural variation or inherent characteristics. Quartz warranties, where applicable, are generally provided by the manufacturer or supplier and are subject to that supplier’s own warranty terms. Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, impact, heat, poor support, structural movement, third-party work, or improper care and maintenance. - Liability
The Company is not liable for hidden defects in cabinets, walls, floors, structures or prior installations, nor for damage caused by defective support structures, customer instructions, third parties, or site conditions beyond the Company’s control. Nothing excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded. - General
The Company may use employees, subcontractors or other service providers to complete the work. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties will first try to resolve any dispute in good faith, after which the matter may be referred to any South African court or forum with jurisdiction.
Important: Payment of the required deposit constitutes acceptance of the quotation and these Terms and Conditions.
